Patrols, Police Activity and local engagement
We have been completing patrols in Burbage to address local concerns and provide high visibility to deter criminals from coming to the area. 50 miles of patrols completed this evening in Burbage alone, numerous stop checks, one vehicle seized for no insurance and no licence, we have also spoken to lots of residents whilst we were out and about. Patrols this week include marked vehicles, on foot and bicycle.
We are also being assisted by our colleagues on response and specialist support directorate.
Patrols include Colts close, Train station area, Herald Way, Sketchley Old Village, Sapcote Road, Banky Meadow, Winchester Drive. There isn't many streets we have not visited on multiple occasions this week.
We attended the Co-op on Boyslade Road on the 12th. It was a very busy event where we spoke to residents around residential burglary concerns and offered support and advice. Thank you to everyone that attended.
Crime prevention and issues to be aware of
Scam calls regarding jobs. Residents have reported they are receiving phone calls encouraging people to connect on WhatsApp to speak about Job offers. These “offers” may seem very lucrative, but please, do not engage with them, they are a scam. You can find out more about scams via the Which website All you need to know about task scams - Which?
Thank you and take care.
